Collections for the Uganda Mission Trip Have Begun!
This year's team of 12 will be taking the following items:
Digital Pictures from Nakabango
Have an old digital camera lying around looking for a new home? We're now accepting donations of working digital cameras with fresh and/or charged batteries and a memory card. Cameras will be given to kids in Nakabango to take pictures of their homes and their families, friends, etc. We'll bring the memory cards home and share the results with Messiah! Leave donations in the baskets at the back of church or in the missions room. Nakabango Child Sponsorships
Currently, 110 kids in Nakabango are sponsored by families affiliated with Messiah. Only $250 pays for a child's education, school supplies, uniform, shoes and one meal per day for an entire year! Cards and letters will be collected in May to deliver to the kids during the 2009 mission trip. 2009 Mission Trip
Plans are underway for this year's trip to Nakabango! Hats, frisbees, and used digital cameras with batteries will be collected prior to the trip. The 2009 team will paint t-shirts, make friendship bracelets, and create artwork with the kids. The women will be given new ideas for sewing projects and jewelry. Cards and letters for the 110 sponsored kids will be delivered and pictures of the kids taken to bring home for sponsoring families. A new carpentry shop for the boys to improve their skills and generate income will be built while the team is onsite. 2008 Uganda Child Sponsorships
Thanks to everyone! Sponsorships for all 110 kids have been renewed! 2008 Uganda Mission

Messiah Lutheran Church is sponsoring 51 children of thr Nakabango Congregation.
The main objective of the project is to provide the orphans with school fees and scholastic materials.
On March 3, 2007, funds were given out to the children in Nakabango who were so excited and were looking forward to going back to school after spending some time without studying due to lack of money for school fees.
